Google Workspace admin console

Push RedactGate to every managed Chrome browser in your organisation.

    Open Chrome management

    Admin console → Devices → Chrome → Apps & extensions → Users & browsers.

  2. 2

    Add the extension by ID

    Click the + icon, choose 'Add from URL', paste the RedactGate extension ID from your enrolment email.

  3. 3

    Set to Force Install

    Users can't remove or disable the extension: required for regulated environments.

    Assign to OUs

    Start with a pilot OU, roll out broadly after 7 days of clean event logs.

Microsoft Intune

Deploy to Edge and Chrome across your Intune-managed fleet.

    Create a configuration profile

    Devices → Configuration profiles → Create profile. Platform: Windows 10/11+. Template: Administrative Templates.

    Find force-install policy

    Under Chrome → Extensions → 'Configure the list of force-installed apps and extensions'.

    Add the RedactGate extension ID

    Format: '<id>;https://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx'. Replace <id> with your provisioned value.

    Assign to device groups

    Staged rollout recommended: pilot group first, full fleet after verification.

Jamf Pro (macOS)

For macOS fleets managed through Jamf Pro.

    New Configuration Profile

    Computers → Configuration Profiles → New. Choose the Custom Settings payload.

    Upload the RedactGate plist

    Download from your admin portal. Preference domain: com.google.chrome.

    Scope and deploy

    Scope to the relevant computer groups. Chrome picks up the extension on next launch.

Group Policy (Active Directory)

For on-premise Active Directory environments.

    Install Chrome ADMX templates

    Add the Chrome ADMX templates to your Central Store if not already deployed.

    Configure force-install list

    Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Google Chrome → Extensions → force-install list.

    Add the extension entry

    '<extension-id>;https://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx'. Replace <extension-id> with your value.

    Link to OUs

    Link the GPO to target OUs. Run 'gpupdate /force' on a target to verify.
